CLIENT ADVOCACY

NCAP Prevention staff will assist consumers in accessing HIV/AIDS related continuum of care services. The prevention coordinator will work with clients to assure that they are receiving maximum benefits and entitlements under the laws protecting people with disabilities. This includes services for housing, medical, food and employment opportunities

ASSISTANCE WITH LEGAL AND FINANCIAL PLANNING
Clients can meet with a case manager or Prevention Coordinator to develop a plan to help ensure an income, health insurance and housing. For clients with legal concerns such as writing wills, creating living wills, planning guardianship of children, delegating power of attorney, or selecting a health proxy, NCAP will facilitate the appropriate referrals to the AIDS Legal Network.

CLIENT DROP-IN CENTER
The drop-in center is open daily for use by NCAP clients. The drop-in center serves to provide sanctuary for people wanting to connect with others who also may be feeling alone and isolated. The Center is where people can come when they just need someone else to talk with, or for psycho-social groups and gatherings. Hot meals are served from our kitchen, there is a small library of HIV related publications and other reading materials, and a computer with Internet access.

CASE MANAGEMENT & TRANSPORTATION

CLIENT EMERGENCY FUNDS
Limited funds are often available for people who meet the standard guideline provided by the federal poverty income outline. Emergency fund availability is based on private donations and grant funds, it is not a guaranteed benefit or entitlement program, and operates on a first come first serve basis.
